Caretaker Farm is a sustainable farm.
It is in the Berkshires region of Massachusetts
Description
Caretaker Farm, established in 1969, is a community supported farm. We provide a nearly year-round provision of vegetables and fruits for 250 families. We also train annually four apprentices within the framework and principles of organic agriculture.
The farm, while primarily directed to vegetable production, has mixed livestock (beef and milking cows, goats, pigs and chickens), three greenhouses, an orchard and a bakery. The farm, which covers 35 acres, is bisected by a small river and is part of an extended rural valley.
Products
Vegetables, fruit, baked goods and meat.
CSA
Our two-adult, one-bag share costs $660; and our one-adult, one-bag share costs $550. All shares are picked up at the farm. We distribute once a week from June through October and then every other week until the produce runs out (around February). The farm also provides financial assistance to those in need so that all can access the CSA.
