Description
The UMass Crop Research Farm conducts applied research in agricultural systems and is the home of the Student Farming Enterprise program, an undergraduate course in the Department of Plant Soil and Insect Science at the University of Massachusetts-Amherst. The course curriculum provides students with a solid background in small-scale production agriculture, while also providing students with practical hands-on experience growing organic produce for the UMass campus community. The land base at the UMass Crop Research Farm also offers a unique opportunity for vegetable, biofuel, insect biology, agronomic and animal research in pasture-based, mixed farming systems.
